Nail Art/ /Tropical Florals

Image
The weather is getting warmer and Summer has finally arrived. By now, you've probably already transitioned your wardrobe over to your shorts and tanks. Or you're just now getting to that... like me. To celebrate the coming favorite season, I created a tropical theme floral nail art design.  I used a variation of tools; toothpicks and acrylic  dotting tools . Here are the following polishes I used: Sinful Colors/ /Top Shine Clear Coat OPI/ /Infinite Shine/ /To Infinity and Blue-yond Essie/ /Mamba Butter London/ /Greenery OPI/ /Alpine Snow OPI/ /Cajun Shrimp Sally Hansen Miracle Gel/ /Top Coat After polishing the nails in a base coat (I just used a regular top coat) , I coated the nails twice using the warm blue. Then with the dotting tools , I began to create small polka-dots along the edges of the nail. Painting short strokes surrounding the dots with the light tan/peachy color. I used the toothpicks to make fine branches

Summer 2017 Color Palette

I've always been fascinated with colors and trends so this new topic on my blog will be based on seasons. To add on to this idea, I will link nail polishes that I believe match up to the following palette.  I have researched various fashion databases and here are the colors for Summer '17. PANTONE 17-1462 Flame A red-based orange, Flame, is gregarious and fun loving. Flamboyant and vivacious, this wonderfully theatrical shade adds fiery heat to the spring 2017 palette. My Polish pick: Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Tribal Sun .620 PANTONE 14-4620 Island Paradise Island Paradise is a refreshing aqua that calls to mind a change of scenery. A cool blue green shade that speaks to our dream of the great escape, Island Paradise is emblematic of tropical settings and our desire to unwind. My Polish  pick: OPI Infinite Shine To Infinity and Blue-Yond PANTONE 13-1404 Pale Dogwood Continuing the tranquil mood, Pale Dogwood is a quiet and peaceful

Hair Tutorial/ /The Top Knot

Image
The top knot has become a popular look.  Here are a few tips and tricks to help you create the perfect top knot look! Only grab the very top crown pieces of hair for your knot. If desired, you can tease those pieces for them to looks bigger.  When you wrap it up, twist your hair and pull it through an elastic. Leave a little bit out to create the knot effect.  Pull the edges to make it 'fluffier.'  For a more precise and clean look, you can take the stray pieces of the bun and bobby pin them into the bun.   Don't forget hairspray ! This look is everything that Summer represents; relaxing, simple, effortless, fun, and messy.  ♡ Anna

Motivational Inspiration/ /Band of Love

wedding ring ˈwediNG ˌriNG/ noun a ring worn by a married person, given by the spouse at their wedding. That's the definition of a wedding ring currently, thanks to Google. Haven't you ever wondered why married couples or soon-to-be spouses buy fancy rings for one another? When did the tradition ever start? Why do we wear rings on our left hand and why do we wear rings in the first place?  Get ready, there might be some history facts ahead. What's with the ring finger? The ring finger or the fourth finger of your left hand is said to have the Vena Amoris , or in English: the 'vein of love'. The allegory, or the symbolic picture, is the vein that interweaves itself straight to the heart. Some say that's one of the reasons why we associate wedding bands with our fourth left finger. Others wear engagement rings on their right hand until the actual wedding day and then transfers the ring over to the left hand. The ring finger has been as
